Illegal sports camp closed in Vileyka district
The prosecutor's office of Vileyka district, during summer inspections, uncovered what it defined as an underground children's camp.
An unauthorized camp was operating on the territory of one of the local agro-estates – sports karate training camps were held there. More than 30 children and teenagers aged 7 to 17 were resting in the camp under the supervision of three trainers.
The inspection revealed numerous gross violations.
The camp was not included in the official register of the Health Center. There was no medical professional on staff, and no agreement for medical services was concluded with a hospital or clinic. Coaches and the cook could not present medical certificates or documents proving completion of hygiene training.
Some children lived on the second floor of the bathhouse, while others lived in dirty houses that had not been cleaned for a long time.
Fire extinguishers were faulty, and refrigerators were plugged in using dangerous extension cords.
