Which mushrooms will be most plentiful in the forest this year?
This year in Belarus will be successful for mushroom yields, predict experts at the Forest Institute of the National Academy of Sciences.

“One of the indicators of a good mushroom harvest is snowy winters,” explained Ihar Makhavik, a researcher at the Sector of Food and Medicinal Forest Resources of the Forest Institute, to "Sputnik".
According to him, with good snow cover, water accumulates in the forest at all levels, which leads to a high mushroom yield during the summer-autumn period.
"This season will be close to average multi-year values, and therefore successful in terms of yield," said the scientist.
A special feature of this season is that there will be a lot of honey fungi. This is due to the fact that after windfalls, there was a considerable amount of cleared areas and, accordingly, fallen wood in the forests.
A good harvest of chanterelles is also predicted. Porcini mushrooms — at average levels. Birch boletes might be more abundant than usual, while aspen boletes, on the contrary, fewer — they are very demanding of water.
The Viciebsk region, the north of the Minsk region, and certain districts in the Hrodna and Mahilioŭ regions are considered the richest in mushrooms in Belarus.
