"Zelenskyy offered me to remain his advisor, but I refused," Fedorov said.
Today, Mykhailo Fedorov held a briefing for the media, where he spoke about his work as Minister of Defense and the department's plans. He also commented on rumors about his dismissal from the post, which led to numerous rallies in Ukraine today.
According to him, he has already had a phone conversation with the President, and another meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled for him later today.
"People came out not for Fedorov, but for themselves. Now it's not about me. It's about the root of the problem that needs to be solved. It's impossible to win with such a structure," he commented on today's protests in the country, when people in various cities came out in his support.
After Fedorov's resignation, Pavel Yelizarev, Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, also announced his dismissal. He called the decision to remove Fedorov "absolute evil" for the country.
The European Union also demanded explanations from Zelenskyy regarding Fedorov's resignation. In particular, European Commissioner for Defense Andrus Kubilius stated that Fedorov is suitable for this position.
