The South African national team reached the World Cup playoffs for the first time in history. South Africa defeated South Korea 1:0, while Mexico beat Czechia 3:0.

After three rounds: Mexico — 9, South Africa — 4, South Korea — 3, Czechia — 1.

Mexico advanced to the round of 32 from first place, South Africa from second, and South Korea is on the waiting list.

It should be noted that eight of the 12 teams that finish in third place will qualify for the playoffs, which for the first time at World Cups will start from the round of 32, not the round of 16 as in previous decades.

In another group, Brazil defeated Scotland 3:0 (Vinicius Júnior scored twice), and Morocco beat Haiti 4:2.

After three rounds: Brazil — 7, Morocco — 7, Scotland — 3, Haiti — 0.

Brazil advances to the playoffs from first place, Morocco from second (Brazil is higher due to a better goal difference, the teams drew against each other), and Scotland is on the waiting list, but their chances for the playoffs are slim.
