Alisa Ryzhychanka, the representative of the United Transitional Cabinet for Economy and Finance, assessed the state of the Belarusian economy as the beginning of stagnation, according to the UTC's Telegram channel.

According to the latest World Bank forecast, Belarus's GDP growth will be only 1.1% in 2026, 0.8% in 2027, and 0.7% in 2028. At the same time, the government announces its intention to increase GDP by 16% over the next five years.

According to Alisa Ryzhychanka, one of the main problems remains the critical dependence of the Belarusian economy on Russia. This applies not only to the military-industrial complex but also to civilian exports, the volumes of which directly depend on demand in the Russian market.

The slowdown of the Russian economy is already affecting Belarus. Industrial production shows a decline of more than 3%.

A particularly difficult situation is observed in the Vitebsk region, where, according to the expert's assessment, almost all state enterprises operate at a loss.

«Every year these enterprises require more and more funds from the budget. Instead of investing in science, technology, and social support, the state is forced to direct money to support unprofitable productions,» notes Alisa Ryzhychanka.
