Under current Russian legislation, participation in the war is an official mitigating circumstance.

Belarusian citizen Aliaksei Pakhomau, who was driving his Volvo V40 in Russia, was caught with a fake driver's license.

Where, when, and from whom the man ordered the license, he never admitted. But he fully admitted guilt.

The Priozersky City Court of the Leningrad Region sentenced Pakhomau to three months of forced labor. This is almost the minimum punishment: the law allows for forced labor for a period of two months, and the court set the deduction from earnings at 5% — the lowest possible percentage.

The court explained the leniency of the punishment by the fact that Pakhomau fought against Ukraine for some time.
