Belarusians won against Nausėda's team. And dedicated the victory to the memory of Mielkaziorau
On June 13, the team of democratic Belarus took first place in the international charity football tournament Ambassadors’ Cup 2026 in Vilnius (Lithuania). Second place went to the team from the Office of the President of Lithuania, which included Gitanas Nausėda himself, and third place was taken by participants from Germany, writes "Belsat".
The tournament brought together representatives from various countries, embassies, businesses and public organizations, politicians, and its main goal is to support children and develop sports opportunities for those who particularly need it.
On their way to victory, the Belarusian team played against the British Embassy team, as well as teams from Taiwan, Spain, and India.
The final part of the tournament against the Lithuanian President's team ended in a penalty shootout, where players from democratic Belarus showed character and confidence. Accurate shots, mutual support, and strong team spirit helped Belarusians secure victory and take first place in the tournament.
The Belarusian team participated in the competition for the third time, but had not previously won any prizes.
According to Dzianis Kuchynski, diplomatic advisor to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, Belarusians dedicated the victory to journalist Mikita Mielkaziorau, who suddenly passed away at the end of last year.
It is also worth noting the charitable component of the event: the largest donation was made by PZU company — five thousand euros. PZU is a Polish insurance group and one of the main partners of the tournament. This contribution became important support for initiatives that help children engage in sports, train, and gain new opportunities for development.
