Ali Khamenei's Funeral to Take Place on July 9
The mourning ceremony will span several days.

The main funeral procession is scheduled for July 6 in Tehran, after which the procession will take place on July 7 in Qom. The final burial will occur on July 9 at the Mausoleum of Imam Reza in Mashhad, where Ali Khamenei was born.
Iran's Supreme Leader died on the first day of US and Israeli strikes on Iran, February 28. Also killed in the strike were his daughter, son-in-law, grandson, and one of his daughters-in-law.
The CIA provided Israel with data that a meeting between Khamenei and high-ranking officials was taking place at the residence, and Israeli fighter jets dropped about 30 bombs.
A 40-day mourning period was declared in the country.
Subsequently, Ali Khamenei's son, Mojtaba, was declared the Supreme Leader of Iran. However, he is reportedly also injured and does not appear in public, but makes all key decisions.
