In Kronstadt, the Kronstadt Marine Plant, which services ships and submarines of the Russian Navy, was attacked, confirms the Russian publication Astra.
Smoke is rising above the docks of the Kronstadt Marine Plant in the port city of Kronstadt (administratively part of St. Petersburg).
Earlier, St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov reported casualties as a result of a Ukrainian drone attack on infrastructure facilities in Kronstadt, Kirovsky, and Krasnoselsky districts, but did not specify the exact names.
Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the country's Defense Forces hit "military targets at the Kronstadt base".
The Kronstadt Marine Plant is the largest ship repair enterprise in the North-Western region of Russia. Since April 2016, the plant has been part of the 'United Shipbuilding Corporation' joint-stock company.
There are 4 dry docks on the territory of the Kronstadt Marine Plant. Annually, the plant services dozens of ships and supply vessels of the Baltic and other fleets, as well as submarines.
