The building is awaiting a large-scale renovation: inside, it will be almost completely dismantled. The roof, internal floors, partitions, windows, doors, and engineering communications are already being removed. Essentially, only the frame will remain — the exterior walls and reinforced concrete structures, which will be additionally strengthened.
After this, a new layout with modern floors and rooms will be created inside.
However, the exterior of the building will be preserved. The historic facade will be restored to its original appearance: architectural elements will be cleaned, and decorative stucco will be restored. New windows will be installed in a modern design, but maintaining the former style.
Dormitory No. 4 was built in 1954 and is part of the architectural ensemble of the BNTU main building. The building is known for its pilasters, high reliefs, and sculptures.
