Unusual Mushroom Found in Belovezhskaya Pushcha
An interesting and unusual winter mushroom — the "Tremella" — has been spotted in Belovezhskaya Pushcha, according to the national park's press service.

It is also known by the names "Golden Jelly", "Yellow Brain", and "Witch's Butter".
This mushroom grows in mixed forests, and its golden color makes it noticeable even in a winter deciduous forest. Tremella is a late autumn mushroom, which, due to climate change, can also be found in winter.
Night frosts are not a threat to it, but it cannot tolerate heat and direct sunlight.
Tremella mesenterica (Orange Tremella) belongs to edible mushrooms. It is valued not for its bright taste, but for its unique jelly-like consistency, which can resemble seaweed or sea scallops. In Belarus, this mushroom is practically not consumed, but in Asian countries, especially in China and Korea, it is considered a delicacy.
