In most regions of the country, the ban will be in effect for 24 hours — from 08:00 on June 12 to 08:00 on June 13, although the specific time is determined by local authorities. In some cities and districts, restrictions may apply from 00:00 to 24:00.
Strong alcoholic beverages, beer, and low-alcohol beverages with an ethyl alcohol content of 7% or more fall under the ban.
However, the restrictions do not apply to:
- cafes, bars, and restaurants where alcohol is sold by the glass;
- the sale of alcohol for weddings, celebratory, and ritual events in cases provided for by local rules.
Such measures in Belarus have traditionally been introduced for many years on the days of school graduation ceremonies with the aim of preventing offenses and accidents.
