Resident of Rechytsa Drove a Stolen Car for 10 Years and Didn't Suspect It
In 2016, the man purchased a Ford Focus car through an acquaintance.

The foreign car came with a full set of documents, including a vehicle registration certificate in Russia and a general power of attorney from the former owner.
The Belarusian liked this situation and did not remove the car from Russian registration.
In March of this year, the man was stopped by a DPS "Strala" officer. During the document check, state traffic inspectors had doubts about the authenticity of the vehicle registration certificate. Even more questions arose when they checked the VIN number.
The identification marking on the car body was significantly corroded, while no corrosion was observed around the marking application area.

Experts of the Rechytsa State Committee of Forensic Examinations established that the vehicle registration certificate form of the Russian Federation was not produced by an enterprise engaged in the production of this type of product. The car's VIN number had also been altered. Experts restored it.
A criminal case has been initiated.
