Lithuanian citizen who organized Old Believer services in Pastavy district faces deportation
The police commented on the arrest last week in Kukliany of a Lithuanian citizen who bought a house there and organized Old Believer religious services.
The police claim that the man did not have permission from the district executive committee to hold mass religious events. He started inviting citizens to attend Old Believer services via messenger.
He held them in his house. The police note that he collected donations from the congregation. He did not have the appropriate education or permission from the district executive committee to hold mass religious events.
For violating the order of organizing or holding mass events, he faces expulsion from the country, the police reported.
