Belarus and Pakistan are preparing to sign a memorandum on cooperation in the field of labor and employment. The draft document was approved by Lukashenka's decree No. 314 dated August 22.

"To approve the draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on cooperation in the field of labor and employment as a basis for negotiations," the decree states.
According to the decree, the Ministry of Internal Affairs received authorization to conduct negotiations and sign the agreement.
As early as April, during the visit of Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to Minsk, Alyaksandr Lukashenka noted that Belarus was ready to accept up to 150,000 Pakistani labor migrants. At the time, the parties agreed to develop a specific mechanism for their arrival and work in the country. These intentions caused concern and lively discussions on various platforms within Belarusian society.
