The incident occurred in Lower Saxony on the A1 autobahn on Tuesday around 5:15 PM, reports the website "Belarus and the World."

A Volkswagen Tiguan with a 32-year-old man was driving in the right lane towards Hamburg. At a certain section, the driver failed to notice a traffic jam caused by road works in time and, without braking, crashed into the rear of a truck that was stopped at the end of the jam. The truck was driven by a 46-year-old Belarusian woman.

The crossover driver was trapped in his vehicle under the semi-trailer, and approximately 30 rescuers freed him. However, medics later pronounced the man dead at the scene. The truck driver and her 42-year-old passenger were not injured in the collision.

Following the tragic incident, traffic in the direction of Hamburg was completely blocked. Vehicles were diverted via the Stuhr interchange. Traffic partially resumed from 6:45 PM and fully by approximately 1:00 AM.
