What will the Kupalaŭski Theatre show in the new season?

Artistic director of the Kupalaŭski Theatre, Dzmitry Akimaŭ, told "Minsk-News" what to expect on stage in the new season.

Eight productions are planned.

In honor of Ivan Shamyakin's anniversary, his novel "Heart on the Palm" will be staged. Premiere on October 7-8.

Director Ilya Kruk, together with Viktoryia Klevka, will release a performance based on her new novel "My First Eve".

For a teenage audience, a premiere based on Yauhen Khvaley's novel "Party Princess" is planned for December. And for the youngest viewers and their parents, a performance with the working title "Blizzard" is being prepared, which will include four fairy tales of Belarusian folklore.

On March 27, 2027, on Theatre Day, a premiere based on Molière's play, translated by a Belarusian classic, will take place.

"In the near future, we plan to launch a project timed to the anniversary of Yanka Kupala, which awaits us next year. We will soon announce a competition-laboratory for writing plays about the classic's biography. It will be held jointly with the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum and the Belarusian Drama Center. This can be an artistic view of the author's biography, and a documentary, it may include elements of a biopic or fan fiction, anything. Several plays will receive prizes, and the Grand Prix is the staging of a performance for the author's anniversary," Akimaŭ said.

Recently, the creative project "Kupala. Laboratory" took place. As a result, it was decided to stage Andrei Shlyapin's sketch based on the play "Mudramer" on the small stage.
