Former political prisoner Andrzej Poczobut on September 8 returned to Belarus. He plans to spend a week there. Poczobut visited Hrodna, Minsk, where he walked to Valadarka [prison].
On Facebook, the former political prisoner shared a touching story that happened to him during his travels around the country. He bought a watermelon grown in southern Belarus — although it's not as sweet as an Uzbek one, it comes with a whole story.
«It turned out that both the saleswoman and the business owner are husband and wife. Both served time related to the 2020 events. Article 342: «active participation in actions that grossly violate public order». They served, respectively, «home chemistry» (restricted freedom at home) and «chemistry» (restricted freedom with assignment to a correctional facility).
Now they run their own small business and, like most Belarusians, await better times.
