Aliaksandra Sasnovich was the last hope, but she failed to reach the final of the US Open tennis championship (US Open) qualification.
In the second qualification round, the Belarusian lost to Czech tennis player Vendula Waldmannova, ranked 165th, — 7:5, 3:6, 1:6.
Earlier, two more Belarusian tennis players, Iryna Shymanovich and Alena Falei, had exited the tournament.
In the main US Open tournament, which will take place in New York from August 30 to September 13, Belarus will be represented by Aryna Sabalenka, who won the tournaments in 2024 and 2025. However, this year only a third consecutive title will help the Belarusian maintain the top spot in the ranking, which Aryna has held since October 19, 2024.
