But he won't be left completely without money.

A former German police officer has been stripped of his right to a civil servant's service pension for an official crime.
The man, born in Belarus, served in the German Federal Police, and from March 2017 to February 2019, worked as a document and visa consultant at the German Embassy in Minsk. In December 2018, he transported a significant quantity of cigarettes without a Belarusian excise stamp across the border, using a car with diplomatic license plates and presenting a diplomatic passport at the border. In June 2019, a Belarusian court fined him for a tax offense.
Disciplinary proceedings against him began in January 2019 and resumed in 2021 after a criminal investigation. However, the final outcome appeared recently — the Federal Administrative Court of Germany delivered its ruling on March 18, 2026.
He will not be left completely without any payments; he will be transferred to the general state pension insurance system. However, the payments will be significantly smaller.
