She was placed in the cell-type facility (PKT) back in May.

Alena Lazarchyk, an activist sentenced to 9.5 years in prison, was sent to a cell-type facility (PKT) for six months, as reported by Mediazona.

Lazarchyk was placed in the PKT in early May 2026.

Alena Lazarchyk is an activist of the "European Belarus" movement, the widow of activist and Kurapaty defender Siarhei Makoyts (he died in 2023).

In September 2022, Alena was sentenced to eight years in prison. She was accused under articles concerning insulting Lukashenka (Art. 368 of the Criminal Code), creating or participating in an "extremist formation" (Art. 361-1 of the Criminal Code), inciting hostility (Art. 130 of the Criminal Code), and gross violation of public order (Art. 342 of the Criminal Code).

Later, another one and a half years of imprisonment were added to her sentence under the article on malicious disobedience to the demands of the correctional facility administration (Art. 411 of the Criminal Code). Since then, Alena has been serving her sentence in correctional colony No. 24 in Zarechcha — a colony where women repeatedly convicted are sent.
