The container ship 'Yanina' sank in the Black Sea after a drone attack, Rosatom stated. This was announced to Kommersant by Alexey Likhachev, head of the state corporation Rosatom.

"It was a completely ordinary peaceful container ship, sailing in international waters and transporting civilian products — from frozen foods to construction and finishing materials. Such an attack cannot be interpreted as anything other than piracy and maritime banditry," he noted.

According to him, the vessel sank on the night of August 1st in the Black Sea, 130 nautical miles from Novorossiysk, as a result of an attack by two Ukrainian naval drones. All 17 crew members were rescued.

This refers to the vessel 'Yanina', owned by FESCO, which is part of the Rosatom structure.
