The "Myane Nyama" publishing house has opened pre-orders for Uladzimir Kazlou's new novel "Southwest" ("Yugo-Zapad"), which is a continuation of the novel "Warsaw," the action of which ends in the summer of 1994, writes bellit.info.

«That year, the transition from freedom to captivity began. And more than 20 years later, I am writing about this transitional period,» explains the author in the book's annotation.

Outside the window of a rented room on Holubeva Street — Minsk in the second half of the 90s. The main character, whom readers met in «Warsaw», works as a journalist, tries to write prose, and thinks about how to live in this country. Or not in this one. Signature verbal minimalism, cinematic writing style, and vivid details of the time (from the first president to the first McDonald's) — "easy" reading about difficult times. This book is no longer about hopes and expectations, but about how slowly and ruthlessly freedom transforms into what would later be called «stability».

You can order «Yugo-Zapad» on the publishing house's website Mnnm.store.

Pre-orders are now open — the paper edition is expected from the printing house in August 2026. The publishing house «Myane Nyama» reminds that pre-orders are very important, as they provide confidence in reader interest and the opportunity to print the book faster.
