"A part of the relics of the holy Prince Alexander Nevsky was sent to the front in spring on the initiative of Defense Minister Andrei Belousov. Since summer, the relic has been used for prayer services to overcome the fuel crisis, in particular — for the resumption of fuel supplies to Crimea. The sanctuary could not be saved," writes the Telegram channel "Kremlin Snuffbox".
"The relics of the holy Prince Alexander were being transported by servicemen in their truck to one of the important objects in the DPR. A prayer service was planned there to overcome the fuel crisis in Donbas and throughout Russia. On the way, there was an attack using several drones. Unfortunately, the sanctuary was completely lost. It's a good thing that only a part of the relics was brought to the DPR. But the loss is huge. Three officers died during the attack. These are such bad news," a source in the Ministry of Defense said.
The Ministry now fears a conflict between Belousov and Patriarch Kirill. This is not the first sacred relic lost at the front.
Last year, a part of the relics of Saint Matrona of Moscow was lost as a result of shelling. They were also sent to the front on the personal initiative of the minister.
"We hope that God will not abandon us. But now the mood is very bad, depressed. We believe that, despite everything, new shrines will arrive at the front," the channel's interlocutor added.
