The loss of capacity at the refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban will complicate the already difficult fuel situation in southern Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the strikes on Russian oil refineries located deep in the Russian rear.

According to him, the "Slavyansky" plant in Krasnodar Krai (approximately 300 kilometers from the front line) was attacked, as well as an enterprise in Yaroslavl Oblast, which is about 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Earlier, local Russian authorities indirectly confirmed the incidents: the operational headquarters of Krasnodar Krai reported an attack on the refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, and the governor of Yaroslavl Oblast announced the closure of roads near the local refinery, but did not mention the attack itself in his statement.

Videos and satellite images show numerous fires in Slavyansk-on-Kuban.

This is not the largest refinery — its processing volumes are 3 million tons per year. However, the loss of part of its capacities will complicate the already difficult fuel situation in southern Russia.
