In Norway, a 35-meter bonfire was lit in honor of the summer solstice

This tradition in Ålesund, a city on the North Sea coast, has been going on for several years.

In the Norwegian city of Ålesund, the traditional celebration of the summer solstice took place. The main event was the lighting of the gigantic Slinningsbålet bonfire, 35 meters high.

The structure, made of wooden pallets, was manually erected by local residents over several weeks.
