Powerful explosion at LNG production plant in Qatar: 54 injured, 18 missing
The explosion occurred in the industrial zone of Ras Laffan, which is the world's largest center for liquefied natural gas production.

State-owned company QatarEnergy reported that an explosion and fire occurred during the launch of production processes at the local gas supply facility "Barzan", AFP reports.
An agency correspondent, located 20 km from the scene, saw flames illuminating the night sky and a cloud of smoke.
Ras Laffan was severely affected during the war between Israel, the United States, and Iran: after an Iranian strike, it was forced to suspend liquefied gas production.
