On the night of June 12, annexed Crimea and regions of Russia were attacked by Ukrainian strike drones, resulting in fires at thermal power plants and chemical enterprises.

In Simferopol, after a massive UAV attack, a fire broke out in the area of the local thermal power plant. Power outages were reported in the city.

Loud explosions were also heard in the Simferopol district (particularly in the villages of Donskoye and Maryino), as well as in the Nizhnegorsky and Krasnogvardeisky districts of the peninsula. Additionally, reports of air defense activity and explosions in the area of the "Saki" military airfield were received, writes "Ukrainska Pravda".

In parallel, the industrial zone of the city of Tolyatti, Samara region of the Russian Federation, came under drone attack. After a series of explosions, fires broke out on the territory of the "Tolyattikauchuk" plant, and thick black smoke rose over the enterprise.

This chemical plant is a strategic object, as it produces synthetic rubber for the tire industry, rubber technical products, and high-octane fuel additives for military equipment.

Also, during the night, drones attacked the "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" oil refinery in the Republic of Tatarstan. The plant produces over 120 types of products. The main products of the enterprise are synthetic rubbers and plastics.

On June 12, Russia celebrates its national holiday — Russia Day.
