Lukashenka's Armenian Friend Detained While Attempting to Leave the Country, Criminal Case Opened Against Him for Taxes

Gagik Tsarukyan lacked 20 votes in the elections to get into parliament. But troubles don't come alone.

In Armenia, a criminal case has been opened against the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" party, Gagik Tsarukyan; he is accused of large-scale tax evasion, writes Ateo Breaking.

Tsarukyan tried to fly out of Armenia today, but law enforcement agencies did not allow him to. His party did not pass into parliament in the last elections, gaining less than 4% of the votes. He was actually short by 20 votes to get into parliament.

The Insider also mentioned Tsarukyan in its article, calling him a "friend of the Kremlin".

Armenian billionaire Gagik Tsarukyan called himself a friend of Lukashenka, even meeting him at the airport and taking him to his mansion at one point. He also presented Lukashenka with a barrel of cognac, which is supposed to wait in Yerevan for Kolya Lukashenka's wedding.
