«Yes, this is the national Belarusian attire. I represent my country. I am from there. My family lives there. I love this country!» — the boxer answered when asked by journalists what kind of clothing he was wearing and what he wanted to express by wearing it.
On June 5, in a fight for the IBF Intercontinental Champion and WBC Continental Americas Champion titles in Montreal, Canada, Dzmitry Asanau knocked out Venezuelan Roger Gutiérrez. The opponent refused to continue the fight in the sixth round. This was the Belarusian's 13th victory in professional boxing.
Dzmitry Asanau is one of the most successful Belarusian boxers of our time.
Born in 1996 in Maladziečna, he has been involved in sports since childhood; his first coach was his father. In his amateur career, Asanau won silver at the European Games, bronze at the World Championship, and became a European Champion.
Since 2022, he has been competing in professional boxing and remains undefeated to this day.
