Budanov doubts Tsikhanouskaya can stop Lukashenka's provocations
"We must be strong and ready for anything, then no one will have foolish thoughts."
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov believes that the leader of the Belarusian democratic movement Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will not be able, "even theoretically," to cope with the task of preventing provocations from the territory of Belarus. He stated this during his speech at the Security Architecture forum, writes Reform.news.
"We must be strong and ready for anything; then no one will have foolish thoughts. Do we need someone's help to rule out the very possibility of any provocations? It's never superfluous. Will Ms. Tsikhanouskaya be able to cope with this task? I will express a purely subjective opinion: no, she will not be able to, even theoretically. But I will repeat my first thesis once again: we must be strong — and then everything will be fine, we will be reckoned with, and no one will do silly things," said Budanov.
He expressed hope that Ukraine would be able to take the right steps to "exclude the very idea" of repeated use of Belarusian territory for armed aggression against Ukraine.
Budanov also emphasized that he considers Ukraine's own strength and readiness for any threats to be the main security guarantee, rather than external factors.
