Macron announced the detention of a tanker coming from Russia
French naval forces have detained the tanker Tagor, which is under international sanctions and was coming from Russia, President Emmanuel Macron announced on X.
"This operation was carried out in the Atlantic Ocean, on the high seas, with the support of several partners, including the United Kingdom, in strict compliance with maritime law," he wrote.
Macron published footage of a landing party descending from a helicopter onto the tanker.
According to VesselFinder, a tanker of that name was located off the western coast of Norway in late May, heading from Murmansk to an unknown port in the Baltic Sea.
