Finland wins World Ice Hockey Championship for the fifth time
Today, in the final, the Finns defeated Switzerland 1:0 in overtime.

The Swiss could never win their first-ever gold at the Ice Hockey World Championship. Moreover, they played three consecutive finals since 2024 but never won.
The bronze medals were sensationally won by Norway, which defeated Canada 3:2 in overtime in the 3rd place match. These are the first-ever medals for Norwegians at the World Championships.
