Belarus plans to introduce a new retail format in villages — self-service vans. These will be mobile stores, but without a salesperson: people will be able to choose goods themselves and pay for them, writes Blizko.by.

The idea was discussed at Belkoopsoyuz (Belarusian Union of Consumer Societies). They want to implement this approach because, apparently, more and more customers prefer self-service purchases.

Belkoopsoyuz notes that currently, over 200 mobile stores are operating in the country, serving more than 12.6 thousand settlements. They have proven effective and help residents of remote villages obtain necessary goods.

Now, the plan is to go even further:

It is expected that the new format may begin to be implemented as early as next year, provided the project proves its effectiveness.
