What about the 23-year-old volunteer and former political prisoner Tsikhan Kliukach? Here's what is known at this moment
Information about Tsikhan's death during a combat mission was spread by his alleged comrade-in-arms, but there is no official confirmation of this. A year ago, information about Tsikhan's death was also spread on social media, but at that time it was just a concussion, after which "Franz" returned to his positions.
Tragic news about the death of the 23-year-old Belarusian volunteer Tsikhan "Franz" Kliukach is spreading on social media.
The original source of this news is former political prisoner Pilip Shaurou, who lives in Poland. On May 19, 2026, a Ukrainian fighter with the nickname Tim wrote to him. He explained that Tsikhan Kliukach had given him Shaurou's contact.
«I'm sorry, but Tsikhan died during a mission at his position,» Tim wrote.
Tim confirmed the same to a correspondent of "Nasha Niva", but we have no opportunity to verify this tragic information. The soldier did not answer clarifying questions and is currently offline.
According to the Ukrainian soldier, Tsikhan Kliukach allegedly died on May 9, 2026. There might be confusion with the date — on that day, the Russian-Ukrainian truce continued, although isolated skirmishes and mutual strikes occurred.
Tsikhan's friends told "Nasha Niva" that he has indeed not been in contact since May 9, but they hope for the best. It appears his Instagram was deleted some time ago.
A year ago, information about Tsikhan Kliukach's death was also spread on social media, but at that time it was just a concussion, after which "Franz" returned to his positions.
According to Shaurou, Tsikhan recently served in the 60th brigade.

Tsikhan Kliukach is a former political prisoner. He was born and raised in Brest. He became a political prisoner at 18, trying to save the girl he fell in love with from imprisonment.
Then Tsikhan's girlfriend, 18-year-old Safiya Malashevich, spray-painted the "Rubiez" system — shields of special fencing equipment. Tsikhan tried to take responsibility for this in court, although the video clearly showed that the girl was doing the painting. However, in the end, both he and she received prison sentences.

While imprisoned, Tsikhan, a self-taught artist, created beautiful drawings.
The young man was released on March 7, 2022, and after some time left Belarus.
At that time, Russia had just invaded Ukraine, and Kliukach, very young, considered it his duty to go to the front as a volunteer. During his service, he was associated with both the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment and the "Pahonia" Regiment, which Vadim Prokopyev tried to establish in Ukraine in 2022.
Due to problems in his relationships with comrades-in-arms and commanders, Tsikhan left the army and later returned.
