The Latvian Foreign Ministry called Russian intelligence's statement about preparing strikes on Russia from Latvian territory a lie.
"Russia is lying again. This time, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service is conducting a disinformation campaign against Latvia. FACT: Latvia DOES NOT provide its airspace for attacks on Russia. This has been repeatedly explained to Russian representatives," wrote Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže on X.
The President of Latvia also called the SVR's statement "a lie".
As stated by Edgars Rinkēvičs, Russia "is lying by claiming that Latvia allows any country to use its airspace and territory to launch strikes on Russia or any other state."
Today, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service stated that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is allegedly preparing a series of new "strikes on the rear regions of the Russian Federation", and Latvia has given its consent for the launch of drones from its territory.
