«By the Eternal Road» Republished in Poland
The publishing house "Polatskia labirynty" (Polotsk Labyrinths) has republished Ihnat Kancheuski's essay «By the Eternal Road» (Adviečnym šliacham) as a separate book. The essay was first published in 1921 in Vilnius in the newspaper of Belarusian Socialist-Revolutionaries «Nasha buduchynya» (Our Future) under the pseudonym Ihnat Abdziralovich, writes Bellit.info.
The author of the work is Ihnat Kancheuski, a native of Vilnius who came from the Orthodox gentry. He was a talented economist, poet, publicist, and philosopher. Along with his younger brother Arsen Kancheuski, he stood at the origins of the Belarusian national liberation movement.
In his landmark essay, he formulated three theses of the Belarusian national idea, which formed the foundation of modern Belarusian philosophy and were embraced by society in the 21st century. These are: existence between East and West, continuous creativity, and cooperation.
The work is published in the Belarusian language in a modern stylistic and orthographic edition, with popular science commentaries, to make it more accessible for Belarusian speakers today.
The book can be purchased via the platform Allegro.pl.
In 2023, Ihnat Abdziralovich (Kancheuski)'s philosophical essay «By the Eternal Road» was released in audio format.
