At the end of January 2026, the Druzhba oil pipeline stopped operations due to damage caused by a Russian strike, Ukrainian authorities reported.
Hungary and Slovakia, which are still dependent on Russian oil and gas, accused Kyiv of delaying repairs to the damaged section. The European Union offered its assistance to restore the pipeline.
On Tuesday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the completion of the pipeline's repair. It also became known then that the European Union had approved a loan of 90 billion euros for Ukraine.
